Now that Full Text is turned on, how do we use? Could use an example.

Kris Robinett on 11/11/2008
Would not load.

Although the video was informative, it probably would've made sense to check the Services first before running the SQL 2008 install.

I didn;t installed FUll text feature on the first instance. The SQL 2008 samples wouldn't be installed because of this. I found it only here how to install FULL Text Search.

Very Helpfull

O man... you do not need to go all this way to check if FTS was installed: read BOL http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188418.aspx select FULLTEXTSERVICEPROPERTY('IsFulltextInstalled')

Ken McCrory on 5/1/2009
I think checking the service to see if it exists and is running would be the first step, not the second.

Tim Harms on 8/6/2009
Good information. Pretty standard video.

Benjamin Bielak on 8/13/2009
Exactly what I needed. Thanks

Francis Hanlon on 2/26/2010
I thought this was about installing Full Text Search not verifying we have already installed it.

Tony on 4/15/2010
Very informative. Thanks

Would it not have been best practice to check via the "SQL Server configuration manager" rather than the Services.msc?
